Dear Dr. and Staff: I was very skeptical about the surgery. My hands, armpits and feet have been sweaty for as long as I can remember. When I started nursing school, I had such a difficult time. To whom it may concern: I was very satisfied with the results. I used to work in a machine shop and I had to oil everything I touched, or it would rust. I have since taken a job in insurance sales. Hi, I'm 23 years old and I was born with hyperhidrosis. Initially I had it of the hands and feet and as I got older it spread to my face and underarms as well. I researched about the available options for a cure for about 3 years before I decided to go with The American Institute for Hyperhidrosis. They made me feel really comfortable during the few months before my surgery, while I was communicating with them from Colorado. I would definitely have considered my condition as severe. Before my surgery I talked to Dr. Meyer and per his suggestion I decided to have them only treat my hands and underarms (to lessen the chances of severe compensatory sweating.) Dear Dr. Egozi, My condition was severe Underarms Sweating, prior to the Hyperhidrosis surgery my under arms will soak wet I could not were any color shirts, only black or white to avoid the stains. Dear Dr. Egozi and Staff: I thank God for this ETS procedure. I believe my first sweating incident was when I was in the 5th grade. From then on I would sweat profusely from my armpits and it got worse as I got older. After the surgery, I sweat more in my trunk area (under my breast, stomach and back), but I would rather sweat there than under my arms. It was very difficult to hide the sweat stains and odor. Dear Dr. Egozi: The ETS surgery was helpful overall. My feet and back sweat more now than before, but it was a good tradeoff. My armpits would sweat 24/7. Now they only sweat when I am working very hard. My hands used to be very cold all the time. Now they are warm and dry. I have not tested them yet in the Michigan winter. Dear Dr. Egozi: I used to sweat under my arms all the time and for no reason. I only sweat under my arms when I exercise. But it is a lot less than before. To whom it may concern: Before I had my surgery done, I was not able to wear light-colored shirts because of the oversize sweat marks under my arms. Having the surgery changed my life. Dear Doctor, I am very pleased with my surgery's results. The small adjustment due to the compensatory sweating is more than worth it. To whom it may concern: Before this surgery, I had excessive sweating from the face, even when it was extremely cold outside. I completed nine years in the active Army and four years of college. It was very hard for me. When I had to go before my peers for an oral presentation, the sweat would start pouring off of me. It was not because I was incompetent. It was because I had no control over the sweating. I would get so frustrated and embarrassed when people asked me why I was sweating so much. I had no explanation to give them. At age 34, I found a job as a probation officer. The first day in court when I had to speak in front of the judge, lawyers and the general public, the sweat just poured out. Right after court, I told my supervisor I needed to have surgery immediately and that I would return afterwards. I got on the phone and scheduled my surgery with Dr. Egozi. Dear Dr. Egozi, After continuous attempts to find a way to solve my facial sweating problem (bio-feed back, psychological treatment, acupuncture, pills etc.). My face would always sweat, can you imagine that? The facial sweating caused enormous problems, both in my business and personal life. But now my life has changed dramatically! The results of the surgery have been everything we discussed before I went and MUCH MORE! I am very glad I had the surgery done as it has, in most situations, eliminated the facial blushing. Once in a while, I feel like it is still there. But it is hard to tell since I don't always have a mirror. I do experience some trunk sweating, which can be annoying at times. I am trying to deal with that. Dear Dr. Egozi and Staff: I have suffered from facial blushing all of my life. Being called upon in class when in grade school and high school was humiliating. As I got older, my professional and personal life was almost nonexistent. I would be having a blushing episode, socially or professionally, and people would notice and say something. This would make the situation worse. The sweating for me came later, and I never really linked up that the same nerve was causing both problems. I would wake up in a pool of sweat. The last time I woke up that way was in my hotel room on the day of surgery. The next morning I woke up with no sweat. I couldn't believe it. Overall, I just feel less hot from the chest up. As far as the facial blushing is concerned, I have been in situations where I know absolutely that I would have blushed. But, guess what? Nothing happened!
